FAQ

Here you will find the answers to the most common questions we are asked about our system, as well as some other information that might come in handy. The information given below applies to both Boomerang and ROQS. If you cannot find the information you need, please contact our customer support.

Measuring points

Besides temperatures, what else can I measure?
Apart from temperatures the system can measure humidity (RH), carbon dioxide (CO2), absolute pressure, and particle number in the air of an air confined room.

What is the maximum distance between the computer and a measuring point, for example in a freezer?
Approximately 25-30 metres, but if the measuring points are linked together the distance could be as long as 150 metres. It is difficult to state an exact range since different types of walls and furnishing affect the radio signals differently regarding rebouncing or damping. However, if a LAN module is installed in the system the distance is not restricted.

How many measuring points can be linked to a system?
The optimal number of measuring points in a normal system is about 50. However, the installation can be adjusted to handle more than 200 measuring points, providing that several PC nodes and LAN modules are used.
.

Deviations & alarms

How quickly am I informed out about a deviation?
A deviation from your predetermined limits instantly generates an alarm that is shown on the computer. The system provides you with information about the concerned measuring point and the type of alarm that has gone off.

Are there different types of alarm notification?
Yes, the system can send you alarms via SMS, e-mail, beeper or the alarm can be shown on a control panel. The alarm is always shown on the computer.
.

Reports

Do I receive a report on the values that have been logged?
Yes, you are able to receive complete documentation on all values that have been logged in the system or a report on the values you choose. A report can be generated at any time, in PDF or Word format. In this way, time consuming paper work is minimized.
.

Installation

How long will it take to install and begin to use the system?
Installation and education of a smaller system with approximately 10 measuring points will not take more than half a day. Larger systems might take around 1-2 days.

Is it difficult to add extra measuring points later on?
No, the system is very flexible in that respect. You can quickly add extra measuring points as well as easily move the entire system if necessary, for example in case of changing locations or rebuilding of the premises.
.

Support & service

Where do I turn if I need help or have questions about my system?
Customer support via e-mail and telephone is available to our customers that have signed a licence and support agreement (LCSS agreement). Always state your LCSS number when you contact our customer support. Click here for contact information to our customer support.

What is LCSS?
LCSS is short for "Licence and Customer Support Services". The LCSS agreement is a yearly licence and support agreement that we offer our customers. Through this, we provide our customers with continuous updates of ICU’s software as well as easy and quick access to our customer support via email or telephone. An invitation to ICU’s user seminar is also included in the agreement.
